The “Carrera Panamericana” was an epic race that began in the 1950s and attracted many of that times leading drivers. To pay tribute to this event TAG Heuer launched the Carrera Chronograph in 1963, and it was an immediate success.

Over the intervening years, the Carrera has been modernized but still retains its sober elegance. The Carrera is an avant-garde chronograph inspired by motor racing and continues to exemplify the vibrant memory of the era of “gentleman drivers.”
