The Cartier Santos watch may actually be the first true wristwatch. It seems that Alberto Santos-Dumont, Brazilian aviator, and friend of Louis Cartier was having trouble reading the time on his fob watch while flying.
Louis, with the help of master watchmaker Edmond Jaeger, came up with a prototype wristwatch that allowed Alberto to keep his hands on the controls. Thus came into being the Cartier Santos, so-named after Dumont
With its sophisticated lines and elegant styling, this classic watch from Cartier continues to impress, never going out of fashion.
